A Vision of Yourself
If there is one lesson to be learned from Wanda Maximoff, it is that life is what you make it. And you have to use this opportunity to the fullest, no matter the sceptical looks from everyone in the room. Recently, I've noticed a peculiar similarity between teenagers or young adults who feel misunderstood and lost, and Wanda Maximoff, a character from the Marvel franchise. At first glance, this comparison might seem odd, but let me explain. Wanda was a member of the Avengers, a group of superheroes, until a devastating conflict shattered the team, and she lost the people closest to her. These tragic events left her feeling utterly alone and out of control in her life. Does this seem familiar? I'm pretty sure that it is not uncommon for many of our young readers to find themselves at a crossroads, struggling with a sense of powerlessness and alienation. Whether you’ve graduated high school and don't know what to do next, or you don't wish to conform to someone else's vision of your future. Maybe you're at university but it is not what you imagined, and you feel lost while others seem to have it all figured out.
If this sounds familiar, I have the bad and the good news. Funnily enough they both sound the same: your life is in your hands, and you should use this news to the fullest. Maybe you want to ask yourself: "What would Wanda do?" Well, the answer is simple. As a result of her circumstances, she used her powers and conjured up an ideal world for herself. She turned herself into the main character of a sitcom with very episode depicting a different decade. Does this seem amazing? Well, it certainly seems crazy, however not entirely impossible. I can let you in on a little secret - you have enough power in you to create a vision of your own dream life and the tools to make it happen.
While you don't have the power to control others around, you can create your own identity. If you don't know want to be yourself right now, be someone else. Try a new hobby and maybe it will turn out to be extremely useful in your future career. Or maybe you will even make a career out of it. Learn a new skill, change your wardrobe and your style, rearrange the furniture in your room. Maybe you’ve always been fascinated in the fashion of the 70s, or you preferred the 90s room décor. Self-expression is the key to a successful life, but sometimes you need to search for it a bit longer. Reinvent yourself time and time again, if this is what it takes to find yourself. Wanda was altering her surroundings in every episode, and you can follow her lead.
In the end, remember that your life is both your responsibility and your canvas. You have the power to steer it in any direction that brings you closer to your dreams.
